Feisty and super-fast (like, 68 mph fast), this iconic Florida billfish provides lucky anglers with acrobatic jumps and a terrific fight on lighter tackle. Although the sailfish is a migratory species found in warm offshore waters around the globe, they are so abundant off the coast of Florida and so popular with people it was made the state’s official saltwater fish in 1975.
As with all billfish, catch-and-release fishing for sailfish is a must. Limit the fight time and always leave larger fish in the water. While the species fights hard, it can tire and may need to be revived.
This unique decal features a sailfish with two connected hooks. The first hook is a modern day circle hook, and the second is an ancient hook from the Pacific Islands–a culture where fishing was central to the way of life.
